2001 eclipse wiring harness replacement?

I need to replace the wiring harnesses (engine and dash) in my 2001 eclipse. I bought wiring harnesses from the local salvage yard for a 2000, thinking they were interchangeable. There are two extra plugs on the 2001 that are not on the 2000, the car will now not run and nothing works. Do I need wiring harnesses from a 2001 and if I do, what are the specifics that I need to look for.

Its not usually your responsibility to know what parts are the same, a reputable automotive recyclers will have access to the parts applicability list and can tell you what will work. Just tell them what type of vehicle you are using. If there is a difference (mid-year change, A/C vs not A/C, etc) they will see it in the applicability list and will ask you what you have.
